Consumption is the default. An AI that is not constrained will expand, elaborate, and fill space. The exchange produces volume but not precision. Building requires design. The AXIS operators create the conditions for building: one transfer at a time, one question at a time, one action at a time.

Language carries meaning. Structure holds the conditions for meaning to arrive. They are not the same thing. An unstructured exchange relies entirely on the AI's ability to infer intent from context. During work on this research, a participant began inventing new operators because they seemed useful. The act of engaging with the grammar's own discipline — asking whether the need had recurred independently, whether the pressure was real — produced a stop. The operator was not created. The moment was recorded instead. The grammar created the conditions for the near-error to become visible before it compounded. This is a different claim than efficiency. It is a claim about the grammar enabling a kind of self-correction that unstructured process does not.
